Forth Road Bridge 50th Anniversary Celebrations 2014

Whilst still in the planning stages it is intended over the period 4- 13 September 2014 to hold a series of events to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the opening of the Forth Road Bridge.

A parade across the structure is planned for Sunday 7 September and a firework display on the evening of Saturday 13 September.

On the actual date of the anniversary namely Wednesday 4 September it is hoped that there will be some form of reception to celebrate the specific anniversary date.

Readers will recall that the Regiment formed a Guard under the command of the then Major (now Colonel) Dudley Lucas for the formal opening ceremony performed on that day by Her Majesty the Queen.

I would appreciate it if anyone who took part as a member of that Guard and who might like to return at some stage for the anniversary celebrations would contact me as a matter of urgency.

Once I have a list of potential participants I will be able to to let each of the respondents have news of the specific details.
